One of the globe?s largest financial card transaction processing providers is currently looking for one Senior Programmer Analyst and one Programmer Analyst (MVS COBOL) to join its current operations in North Yorkshire. Providing programming support to European clients, you will be required to identify and resolve issues within a time-critical environment. The role will involve analysing and resolving issues by making changes to existing code and implementing new system developments. As a technical advisor to the client relations team, you will participate in conference calls with colleagues in the US and clients in Europe. Ideally educated to degree/HND level, or possessing equivalent experience, you should have a proven knowledge of MVS COBOL Mainframe, preferably gained within the Bankcard industry. You possess strong time management skills and demonstrate effective oral and written communication ability. Good analytical and research skills, together with a pro-active approach to problem solving are essential. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, DBMSs and JCL are essential with experience of IMS and DBS a distinct advantage In return my Client is offering a remuneration of up to ?30,000 for the Senior position and circa ?25K for the Programmer Analyst in addition to an excellent benefits package.
