One of the globe?s largest financial card transaction processing providers is currently looking for one DBA Manager and a Senior DBA to join its current operations in North Yorkshire. As the DBA Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that databases installed within our Client?s European sites are supported in accordance with company policies and procedures. Acting as the sole data custodian for all client data held on the databases, you will make certain that all DBA services are managed and supported to the highest standards. You will also contribute to strategic decision making and will lead, train, develop and support the DBA Team. With proven experience in a line management role within a DBA environment, you must also have budget control experience, excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to build your team. You should have technical knowledge of Oracle Databases, Oracle RAC 9i & 10g, DataGuard, Oracle RMAN and ITIL Principals. The Senior DBA will be responsible for ensuring that Databases are installed, maintained and supported in accordance with our Client?s policies and procedures. Under the direction of the DBA Manager you will ensure that all Databases are managed to the highest standards, this includes producing supporting documentation, participating and co-ordinating maintenance and modification and creation of database structures with minimal supervision. Your duties will also include assisting in the design, coding, testing and implementation of Databases and providing consultation/solutions for the Infrastructure Design Team, Project Management and Business teams. You will also interact and coach development teams to improve Scripting techniques. You will have knowledge of Oracle Databases, Oracle RAC, Oracle RMAN, Dataguard and ITIL principals, along with Operating Systems and scripting within AIX, Linux and Windows. You will participate in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support. In return my Client is offering a remuneration of ?50,000 for the DBA Manager and ?40,000 for the Senior DBA position in addition to an excellent benefits package.
